The conference venue is on the west side of downtown. Metro Hall has a direct underground connection to the St. Andrew (King St. West) Subway Station on the Yonge-University subway line.

The venue is several blocks south of the University of Toronto Campus (a short walk or a shorter subway ride from the St. George or Museum or College Street subway stations).

Conference Hotel: Holiday Inn On King
A relatively new Holiday Inn is across the street from the conference venue. A block of rooms will be held until April 1, 2004 at the special rate of $159.CAD (plus 15% tax) for a single or a double.

The block of rooms being held is for the evenings of June 23 to June 27. The same special room rate is available for the three days before and after these dates, for those who will stay longer. However, these extra days are subject to room availability (rather than guaranteed until April 1).

After April 1, which is also the cut-off date for obtaining the reduced conference rate, the special room rate of $159 (plus 15% tax) will still be available – but subject to room availability. Please book early. Book now.

When booking, the International Housing Conference and the special code, CYTOO, must be mentioned.

Delegates may book accommodations in one of the campus residences that rent out rooms during the summer, or stay at any hotel. There are many hotels close to the venue. See the PDF file below.

A four page file (PDF) provides a detailed list of nearby hotels and university residences with contact information. For the Accommodations PDF click here.

There are also the many internet-based hotel reservation services. These often have special rates.

If you are interested in a particular hotel but are not sure of its location in relation to the Metro Hall conference venue, send an email to us with the hotel name and address and we will offer advice.

All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. The prices of Toronto hotels do not include Canadian taxes, which are currently 15%.

The value of the Canadian dollar (CAD), as of January 2004: $100 CAD = $73 US = €65 EUR = £46 GBP.

The University of Toronto Travel Service is available to provide assistance and bookings by e-mail:
